Mitutoyo No. 534-106 long jaw vernier caliper - 0" - 20" range .001" graduation

Here is a Mitutoyo No. 534-106 long jaw vernier caliper that measures from 0" - 20" with .001" graduations.  This caliper has been used and probably abused. As you can see in the 4th and 5th photos, the jaws have a gap in them. With the jaws tight at the top, I can put a .0015" feeler gage half way up and put a .012" at the bottom. Obviously this is not correct. This caliper may be able to be calibrated or it may be just for parts. The wooden protective case is in excellent condition. It has only a few scratches, opens easily, latches shut, and holds this caliper securely. It will continue to protect this tool for many years to come.
