    Condition Specifics
The caliper does have a few light scratches and signs of normal use.  Other than a light cleaning and burnishing, it did not require any repair to prepare for sale.
The fine adjustment mechanism operates smoothly.
All lock screws and the jib tensioner (the brass tension bar inside the moveable jaw compressed by the exterior lock screw) are present and in excellent working order.
The calipers feel through it range of motion is silky smooth with no lock ups or bumps in the travel between min and max.
The case was unpresentable for sale as it was originally manufactured when Starrett used truly inferior plywood for it's cases.  The case has been rebuilt with a satinwood top, reproduction graphics, and three coat of clearcoat to ensure the wood shows its potential.
There are no hidden blemishes or issues on/with omitted from the photos.  What you see is what you get and can be confident an online purchase won't arrive with surprises.
    Comments
    “Item better than described!”
“Typically, sellers show you the better sides of the item for sale- if there is a blemish or flaw, that's the side they face down in photos, or don’t describe it as honestly as the item might be. You're one of the few sellers I've dealt with that the item is described THAT honestly.”
    “Item received exactly as advertised.”
“Shipped fast. Arrived well-packaged. Item in better condition than expected. Great value for the price.”
    FAQ’s
    ·
How are items prepared for sale?
Each item is cleaned, missing (or worn/chipped/ugly) parts replaced, and reburnished/polished where necessary.  While I do not provide calibration services, each item is checked against the standards included with the item to ensure nothing mechanically would prevent formal calibration.
For repainted items, only the best available primer/paint is used.  I focus on PPG products as their advice on industrial-quality solutions has proven to be reliable and does not cause me concern on the quality/wear characteristics of the materials I use.
    ·
    How do you rank items?
‘Excellent’ condition means the item has no mechanical issues, no nicks/chips or evidence of otherwise gentle/infrequent use.
‘Very Good’ condition means that I did not see the need to repaint an item that shows typical paint wear, or there might be very minor pitting on an interchangeable anvil.  If the pitting would impact usability, you will not see it offered for sale in the first place.
I do not sell anything that falls below ‘very good’.  It is just an invitation for buyer issues.
    ·
Your prices are sometimes high.  Why?
It is simple.  I do not sell junk and describe my items fully (sometimes to my detriment).  I work off 12+ years of Ebay sales data (55,000+ data points) I have diligently collected (not Worthpoint data) so I can fairly price items based on condition.
Items are not calibrated prior to sale.
U.S. and U.S. Territory buyers only.
    No international sales.
